Making the "Two Tradies" Animation... sort of.

How Making a poster got carried away... again.

So "Two Tradies" got started as a poster for Vancouver Men in Leather's September GRUNT Night... And, you know, if you're going to go through the work of designing mid-century modern cartoon characters you may as well animate them. Right?

This was actually a really fun call back to my working on the series like Dexter’s Lab, I Am Weasel, and Johnny Bravo. While all the art is digitally hand drawn, it’s actually pretty amazing to a guy who learned story-boarding in the 90s to be able to sit down at the “universal computing machine” and edit up 2D sliding animation.

Yes, it is rough. I’ve since remembered a couple tricks from my Johnny Bravo days, but wow you can actually composite this stuff up in CapCut of all things.

Not the really big question is, how freaking hilarious would 2D animated Tradies fetishing-out be? And would that lead you to get a membership on?
